FlyOver Iceland

Amusement flight ride, Iceland

Architects: Plús Arkitektar

A perforated and illuminated facade for a cylindrical landmark

FlyOver Iceland is a state-of-the-art visually stunning flight ride, creating an unforgettable and breathtaking journey across Iceland. The audience can enjoy a thrilling view of the country in front of a 20-metre spherical screen. Special effects including wind, mist and scents are used to enhance the experience.

The building, situated in Reykjavík’s Grandi Harbour District and designed by Plús Arkitektar, offers both a café and retail opportunities. But the standout feature of this landmark building is the cylindrical theatre which has been clad with more than 370 perforated metal sheets manufactured and supplied by RMIG. At night the cylindrical form is lit up with changing coloured lights shining through the stunning perforated facade.
